DESCRIPTION:Concern about the quality of Higher Education is on the rise in Africa. It comes at a time of growing recognition of the potentially powerful role of tertiary education for growth, and it is a natural response to public perception that educational quality is being compromised in the effort to:\nexpand enrolment in recent years, complaints by employers that graduates are poorly prepared for the workplace, and increasing competition in the higher education market place, as numerous private and transnational providers enter the scene.\nCourse Outcomes\nThis Course Will Provide Participants With The Required Competencies Which Include Knowledge on:\n• Quality assurance (QA) legislative environment, theories related to QA, implementation models, and case studies, policy   writing and roleplay to assist with implementation\n• A Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system, theories around M&E, models and implementation\nThe Course Provides Information on:\n• What African countries are doing to regulate and improve quality (universities and TVET colleges);\n• What it takes to implement these initiatives;\n• What has been the impact, and what are the priorities for capacity building\nWho Should Attend?\n• Academics\n• Researchers in Education\n• University Deans\n• Heads of Departments\n• Provincial Education Departments\n• University Heads of Departments\n• Quality Assurance Managers\n• Chief Directors\n• MECs for Education\n• Director Generals & Deputy Director Generals\n• Education Administrators in Higher Education\n• Monitoring & Evaluation Managers\n• Program Managers\n• Education Specialists\n• Policy Research\n• Principals/ Vice Principals\n• Campus Manager\n• Student Affairs Officers\nAccreditation\nAfter successful completion of this 5-day course on Quality Assurance, Monitoring and Evaluation in Higher Education, including the assignment/POE. Learners will receive Credits from STADIO which will count towards the Diploma in Management NQF Level 6. STADIO is registered with the DHET.
