Ward Committee Governance
The purpose of the qualification is to enable qualifying learners to apply the relevant competencies required for proactive participation as a Ward Committee member so that they achieve municipal objectives.
- Conduct formal meetings to achieve Ward Committee objectives.
- Demonstrate an understanding and apply the role of Ward Committee member in the context of core municipal processes.
- Display an understanding of core municipal functions and Ward Committee in these functions.
- Facilitate service delivery in ward committee context.

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE:
- It is assumed that learners entering this programme are competent in Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 1 (Grade 9).
- Learners who have completed Grade 10 with Communication and Mathematical Literacy on NQF2 will only need to complete modules 3 to 6
Formative assessment: Portfolio of evidence will be submitted within two months after the training of each module. Assessment activities include evaluating all documentation produced during the process and questioning to test knowledge and ability to apply.
Final summative assessment: An Integrated Assessment will be conducted on the theoretical and practical components after all the modules are completed. During integrated assessments the assessor makes use of formative and summative assessment methods and assess combinations of practical, applied, foundational and reflective competencies.
Assessors and moderators make use of a range of formative and summative assessment methods. Assessors assess and give credit for the evidence of learning that has already been acquired through formal, informal and non-formal learning and work experience.
This includes obtaining endorsement from the SETQAA
